Fictional Boyfriend #50

Yay! I made it to 50! That's quite the shock.

Today I wanted to add Aihara from Kimikiss- Various Heroines. Honestly, this manga really confuses me! Aihara is the main guy from all of them, but in each different volume, he is with a different girl falling in love with them. I'm just a bit confused.

Aihara, in each volume that I've read so far, is portrayed as a kind, considerate, and compassionate young man. He is always looking out for the girl that he has his eyes set on and ends up loving her.

In the first volume, he was in love with one of his childhood friends. She was supposed to teach him how to be popular and how to get a girlfriend. They ended up kissing as practice. It was so cute because Aihara kept asking Mao (the girl) to give him kissing lessons. She eventually caught on. The twist was that it was also Mao's first time being with someone. So this proves his cuteness :P

In the second volume, Aihara helps Asuka train for soccer. She's on the team (on the boy's team actually since there wasn't a girl's soccer club at their school) and needed help perfecting a move. Asuka falls behind in her studies and Aihara helps tutor her as well as cheer her on at her game. This proves him to be considerate and helpful :P

In the third volume, Aihara accidentally kisses a girl named Mitsuki. Mitsuki is pretty much a loner because she is shy, but is absolutely amazing. Her talent in music amazes Aihara. He first heard it when he went to go apologize for kissing her (they ran into each other). They become quick friends. After confessing at dinner that Aihara had feelings for Mitsuki, he finds out that Mitsuki is pledged to be married to this other man who is wealthy. Mitsuki herself is extremely wealthy and noble, so that's why there was an arranged marriage at birth. Mitsuki also lets Aihara know that he is the only one she has feelings for though etc. At the end, Mitsuki's dad decides to not go through with the marriage... or was it the fiance saying no? I don't remember :P This proves his kindness (:

So far I am reading the fourth and can't really do a post on it since I haven't finished.
I recommend Kimikiss to those of you who love manga!!

Fictional Boyfriend #49

It has been so unbelievably hard for me to actually read and blog. It's rather depressing if I do say so myself. My aunt gave me this stack of books that includes all these classics. I'm sorta weary on reading them because I don't know how long I'll be interested in that one particular story. Plus, I've been on this site called Booksie a bunch because I'm actually writing my own stories now and putting in them what I want, which is actually a nice thing (also powerhungry since I can make sure that my main guy in the story does what I want him to and I just find it nice to be able to have him as complete perfection according to me). Besides just writing my own stories, I read some of them too from other people. I'm honestly really tempted to start writing about those characters and providing a link to get to that story if anybody would be interested to read their work. I actually have no intention of promoting them, so don't think that this is all just to get you to read something that totally sucks. I meet random people on that website and am continuously blown away by their talent.

I was also thinking about starting another blog on reviewing books because I tend to do that on my blog anyways. It seems to me that I have been getting farther and farther away from describing the guy. I don't know... it's just a thought for now.

On to the guy. Well I decided to pick Newland Archer from The Age of Innocence. I really liked this character, despite the ending. He was a complete romantic at heart. But that seemed to be the poor guy's problem... I believe that he was more in love with the dream of being in love then the actual reality of being in love.

He got engaged to this one chick, May, who he thought was just absolutely perfect for him. She had a great reputation and is actually really beautiful in a young sort of way. He was absolutely convinced that he loved that girl. Haha was he sooo wrong. Besides the fact that he fell in love with someone else, May was just boring for him. He decided to steal a kiss from her when no one was looking and she actually freaked out. Dude, I know how people didn't really kiss or do anything really affectionate back then, but PLEASE. She claimed that she was so in love with him too... Pathetic really.

The woman Archer ended up falling in love with was Ellen, this lady who escaped her husband in Europe because he continuously cheated on her. He was a count and obviously had lots of money and her whole family wanted her to stay with him to avoid scandal. But Ellen was a smart girl and did NOT go back to him... She stayed with her family and part of that family was going to be Archer. Ellen's cousin was May. Ahh that romance was short lived, although he loved her for the rest of his life. There wasn't a day that passed that he didn't think about being with Ellen. I was actually really shocked when May announced her pregnancy and that made Archer have no way out. It wasn't until she died that Archer could pursue his fantasy.

Even after he went with his now adult son to visit, he didn't go in to see her. He simply told his son to go inside and he left. It was just too hard for him I guess. I didn't really understand the ending... But I mean it was just so sad because the whole time you are rooting for him to get rid of boring old May. The sad thing was was that May knew he was in love with Ellen the whole time.

Sorry about basically giving a summary of the book again... I just can't help myself. It was a good book though.
To sum things up about Archer, he made the list because of his romantic heart and just want for a real chance at love. That's the only thing that he really wanted and would make his life complete. Then he just dealt with the loss of it. Pretty depressing.

Fictional Boyfriend #48

Next guy comes from Vampire Knight. His name is Zero (:. So I really love Zero. I know how they make Yuuki end up with Kaname, but I was so torn between the two. Zero is just like (well kinda) Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket. He doesn't show his love for Yuuki until it really is too late. He's mean to her, but really only to protect her and himself. He doesn't think he deserves to be with such a great girl and everything like that. I dunno. I'm just a huge fan of him and a lot of that has to do with Kyo since he reminds me so much of him. ^^
<3 Kyo and so that means <3 Zero because they are SO much alike!

I'm so sorry this post was short. I'm exhasuted, but noticed that my blog needed yet another update, so I updated. (: Next one should be a little longer.

PS~ Those of you who have watched the anime, isn't it sooo scary that little Level E boy's eyes? OH my gosh those people are SCARY!!

Fictional Boyfriend #47

My next post is actually based on the anime instead of the manga. I didn't read the manga after my friend told me not to since it wasn't finished because, tragically, the author died.

Itazura na Kiss proved to be an AWESOME anime, in my opinion ^^. It was pretty close to Fruits Basket (also an opinion) and is so cute etc. I'm picking the lead guy, which is pretty obvious, who's name is Naoki Irie. To tell you the truth, he is a huge jerk. He is constantly thinking he's better than other people, especially those who are stupider than he is. He's at the top of his class at almost everything (at least while he was still in high school). Kotoko, the lead girl in the story, writes a love letter for him and then decides to give it to him (during their final year of high school). He rejects it, telling her he doesn't even want it. You see, Naoki was in class A while Kotoko was in class F. They weren't really able to socialize properly because the smart kids always looked down on the ... er... academically challenged ^^.

Kotoko and her father end up moving into the Irie family's mansion because their own home collapsed. It was like Kotoko was being given a second chance.

MAJOR SPOILERS!!!

After they FINALLY marry after Naoki put Kotoko through everything he did (making her feel stupid all the time, hiding his true feelings of actually loving her and stuff), Naoki changes to become a little more loving. He is still somewhat of a jerk, but towards the end of the series he becomes an absolute sweetheart and it is clear that he just adores Kotoko. There were times that I hated him, but overall I loved him to pieces. It made me want to jump into my own anime *blushes*.

Anyways, I liked how Naoki would secretly kiss Kotoko, like a time when they were in the woods while visiting Romance Village or something (it's really only a housing community). She fell asleep reading a magazine on how to woo the boy you love and he stumbled across her and kissed her softly. She didn't ever find that out, but the watcher finds out when Naoki's younger brother blurted it out (since he saw the whole thing when he went searching for Kotoko). He blurted it out to reassure his mother that Naoki loves Kotoko and not this other girl (which was being set up as an arranged marriage). Anyways, please watch this series if you have ANY interest in its plot that I so crudely described to you. (:

Anti-list? No way would he be considered a boyfriend of your dreams!!

Do you ever have times where you hate a boy in a book (well any character, but specifically a boy since this is a BOYfriend list XD) that you are reading or you don't think the main chick character should have ended up with that doofus, but with this other guy? That happens to me pretty rarely, but when it does, I get really infuriated. It's like you want to take the author by the throat and shake him or her!! Haha maybe not that extreme, but you get the picture.

The reason I ask this is not because the book I just finished included a girl that ended up with the wrong guy. At first, I thought oh she messed up and stuff like that. But then I thought of the whole concept of the story and realized how I can't even include him on this list because he's a technical pedophile. The person I'm talking about is Humbert who stars in the book Lolita. Lolita is about a man who moves in with a widow and her daughter. He falls in love with the daughter, twelve at the time (ick!!) and does his best not to show this love in front of the mom. Well sooo the mom ends up taking her daughter to a summer camp and leaves a letter to Humbert, telling him that he either leaves her house or stays and marries her because she is hopelessly in love with him. After much consideration, guess what he does!!

He STAYES AND MARRIES HER!! How disgusting is that? The whole reason he married this poor lady is for her daughter. So then his wife finds this diary of his and ends up realizing that all he wants is her kid, which she really doesn't even like all that much, and gets so angry (you would too :P). She's so angry, in fact, that when she goes to put the mail in the mailbox across the street, she doesn't notice the car that ends up running her over and kills her.

This leaves no obsticale in Humbert's life to obtain the lovely Dolores, aka Lolita to him. So he picks her up from camp and they travel the country together. The rest, if you're interested enough, so for you to find out. Let there be a record though that Lolita seduced Humbert the first night she was out of camp. Humbert didn't resist, but it proves that she is a naughty girl. Her virginity was already gone before she seduced him and she's only twelve!! Crazy stuff let me tell you!! It all happens in the forties and fifties too.

Anyways, he was a character that I constantly felt bad for and always wanted Lolita to stop being a brat and give the man what he wants, but then that would be encouraging rape and all that stuff!!! It was really hard on my emotions, that book. Haha so you see why I can't add him to the list, but I can't even add him to a hate list, although there are some characters that I could gladly place there and be happy about it :P.

Fictional Boyfriend #46

Usually when I blog, I pick the lead guy of the story. No surprise there though because, hello, they are supposed to be the center of attention and make all girls swoon. Well this time, I decided to go against what I usually do since if I picked the lead guy of this book, I would be really picking him because other people like him. As for me? I liked him in the beginning, but got really frustrated with him towards the end and I'm not going to lie, but I was a little disappointed with the ending overall. Some people may like it, but for me, it's just not good enough.

The book that this boyfriend comes from is Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. I decided to try her out since a lot of girls love her books and I thought "why not?" and grabbed this story. It was VERY well written and evoked a lot of emotion out of me (even anger at the end :P). As for the guys she wrote about, I'm picking Jamie, the main character's (Ruby's) brother-in-law. Before I go on, I need to make sure it is VERY clear that nothing went on between Ruby and Jamie. They had a completely appropriate relationship. Anyways, Jamie is the best. He's one of my favorties on my list because, in my opinion, he is everything a guy should be (and this is talking realistically too since some of my friends have this guy's personality etc as their own fathers). For example, on Valentine's Day, he gives his wife "waves", meaning that the first wave is flowers. Then, later in the day, he gives her other gifts, all leading up to a fantastic gift towards the end of the day. *Cough cough* enough said.

He is also very passionate about his family and would put his career on the back burner if asked to. He cares deeply about his wife and tries his best to handle whatever emotion she's feeling at the time. The only way to make him truly happy is if you make his wife, Cora happy, which is how, in my opinion, a relationship should be. Sure, other things do make him happy, but he's at his best when Cora is happy.

Moral of this post: Happiness is contagious :P

Fictional Boyfriend #45

Alrighty, it's been awhile since I've posted and I apologize for that. I only had time to update my book recommendation and now I'm going to talk about the boy from there (:.

About Tamaki from Phantom Dream:

Tamaki is awesome. Haha I know I say that about most of the guys on here, but I mean there's no other way for me to describe them!! He's what is called a Shugoshi. He's also the only one left in the family, so basically the only existing one, which is actually pretty bad. He is the only one avaliable to exorcise demons out of tortured human souls, called Jaki.

He has a girlfriend named Asahi. The tragic part about their love is that Tamaki is pledged to another woman basically cuz he has to marry a woman with power in order to reproduce and have more Shugoshi. I hate that she isn't powerful, at least I don't know if she is yet. I've only read two volumes of it and am still searching for more. It's really cute though. Asahi knows that she won't be able to be with Tamaki forever; she knows that he has to marry someone else so that he can have kids that are passed the gene.

The weird thing about Tamaki is that he's actually his grandfather's kid. He was always told that his mother's husband was his father. But his supposed "dad" was too weak to carry the Shugoshi gene that his own father would have passed down from him. So the guy that Tamaki always known as his grandfather was actually his dad. Tamaki's mom was actually a jaki, so he has both jaki and shugoshi blood in him, causing him to be very dangerous both physically and mentally. He could go insane at any moment. The only thing that really keeps him sane is Asahi. She's amazing and I sort of want to be just like her since she is so admirable.

That was about Tamaki from Phantom Dream (: I recommend it to anyone and everyone :D. It's by Natsuki Takaya, one of my most favorite authors. She's the most amazing cuz she thinks up all these great characters and stories.

Fictional Boyfriend #44

I just finished Being Nikki today and am still totally into Meg Cabot's writing. She is SO talented!! Anyways, today's boyfriend comes from that book. His name is Christopher. In Airhead, he made me so mad, even though I liked him. He was being so hard-headed towards everything. But then in Being Nikki, everything changed. When he found out that Nikki was really Emerson, I was so excited. It was amazing. Then stupid Brandon messed everything out.

The good news is that Meg Cabot will make sure everything ends smoothly. I just wish that the end of Being Nikki wasn't such a cliff-hanger.

Sorry for making this post so short... I have summer homework that I should be doing :P.

Fictional Boyfriend #43

I really enjoyed The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith and decided to give her other series Night World a chance... Night World isn't really a series that you would think. Ya know how usually in series it's just a continuation of the book before? Well basically each book is made up of three stories that have to do with creatures who broke the rules of Night World, but the characters in each story are different. They may be mentioned in one of the other stories, but otherwise it is not a continuation. Hmmm I wonder if that is a good enough explanation :/.

Anyways, I decided to pick a guy from Night World: Secret Vampire named James. He befriended Poppy when they were in like Kindergarten and were best friends ever since. He always made it clear to Poppy though that they were just friends. When they got into their teens, James started dating girls and would normally have like seven girlfriends a year or something to that ridiculous amount. Meanwhile, Poppy would sit on the sidelines, jealous of each girl that got the chance to go out with him, but also falling deeper and deeper in love with him with each passing day.

During the summer between Junior and Senior year at high school, Poppy is diagnosed with terminal cancer and is pretty much awaiting her death. James then decides to show Poppy his true feelings for her as well as show her a way to escape death.

James is a vampire if you haven't already figured it out. He had that many girlfriends so that he could feed off of them until he felt a weak bond forming with them. Then he would break up with them. He used compulsion to make them forget that he even fed off of them in the first place. He never went out with Poppy because he didn't want her to be used like that. He just loved her too much. It was actually rather romantic.

Thankfully, Poppy gets changed into a vampire by the exchanging of blood. It's all rather facisnating. Now off to read more of that book so I can add more characters to this list :D

Fictional Boyfriend #42

Alright, so I am a fan of Melissa Kantor's writing. I enjoyed The Breakup Bible and If I Have A Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince?. I read her new book, Girlfriend Material, and absolutely loved it! Before I talk about Adam, the boyfriend of the day, I just want to say a few things about the book.

First of all, I was really happy how Kantor talked about Ernest Hemingway's writing. I wasn't a fan of Old Man and the Sea, but I have done a report on him and know his life etc and know what influenced which piece of writing. So that was an interesting parallel...

Anyways!! Adam is my pick for today. He isn't all that amazing, let me tell you :P The whole break thing he took with his girlfriend and didn't tell Kate about it at all? That was messed up. But I mean if you just consider how great he is withouth that little factor, it all adds up. It was pretty cool how he went all the way to New Hampshire, I think that's where his girlfriend was, but anyways I liked how he wanted to fix it with Kate, so he went all the way there to break up with his girlfriend because he thought it too cold over phone. That part was awesome! So many guys would love to take the easy way out, as would girls to be perfectly honest. I decided that I really liked him after that. It shows how gentlemanly he is and really how much he cares about things.

The only catch? Unless Kate and her mom move to the east coast, which was a chance, Kate and Adam will have a difficult time seeing each other, with Kate living in Utah and all. Oh well, it made a nice story. Haha until next time...

P.S.~ I finsihed Fragile Eternity and I don't know what to make of it... I mean I know that there are more books to come, but I'm scared to figure this all out. I kinda like Keenan and Aislinn together for some reason even though he is kind of a jerk... I don't like it when Keenan and Donia get all lovey dovey... I feel like he is cheating on Aislinn, even though he is not. And the whole mother thing between Sorcha and Seth? A tad bit disturbing...
